In 2026 Carolyn and I rode across the state of Missouri on the Rock Island and Katy trails. As usual, Carolyn wrote a daily email to our friends to let them know what we were doing.
The first few posts were written as we travelled from Massachusetts to Kansas City Missouri.
The actual touring began on day 6, riding from Kansas City to St. Charles (just outside of St. Louis). Twelve days of elapsed time, with three rest days.
- Day 6 – Kansas City to Pleasant Hill
- Day 7 – Pleasant Hill to Windsor
- Day 8 – Rest Day in Windsor
- Day 9 – Windsor to Sedalia
- Day 10 – Sedalia to Booneville
- Day 11 – Booneville to Rocheport
- Day 12 – Rocheport to Jefferson City
- Day 13 – Rest Day in Jefferson City
- Day 14 – Rain Delay
- Day 15 – Jeff City to Rhineland
- Day 16 – Rhineland to Augusta
- Day 17 – Augusta to St. Charles
I had one more day on the bike, riding from St. Charles back to the Amtrak station in St. Louis where we had left our car way back on day 5.
